"Froyo has been exploding in popularity, due in large part to it being touted as a healthier alternative to ice cream without a big difference in taste. Sweet Frog is one of the places to eat in Pigeon Forge that’s definitely found a following. Founded in 2009, they have a superb selection of your favorite sweets in frozen yogurt form — but without much of the guilt that comes from the treats they taste like."

"The Ramseys were one of the first families to settle in Knoxville and were very involved in the local community. In 1797, the city’s first builder, Thomas Hope, constructed the Historic Ramsey House using Tennessee pink marble and blue limestone. Today, it sits on more than 101 acres (41ha) and has been restored and furnished to reflect the period of the Ramsey family’s occupancy."
"The Historic Ramsey House was built for one of the very first families to come to the city and settle. Colonel Francis Alexander Ramsey arrived as the house was finished in 1797 and his family was very much involved in the local community. Few other homes dating back to the 18th century are among the open tourist attractions in the region, so this is a real find."
"The Mountain Farm Museum commemorates some of the homes and structures built by pioneers during the 19th century. Most of the buildings were relocated to the museum during the 1950s, although the barn, built in 1880, is still in its original location. The open-air museum includes a rustic log cabin built around 1900, an icehouse used for refrigeration, a blacksmith shop, and two corn cribs, among other things."
"Step back into history inside the unique Mountain Farm Museum. Walk through a farmstead of structures carefully preserved from the last century, including a log farmhouse, a barn and apple house, a springhouse, and a working blacksmith shop. Explore and learn how families lived in the mountains 100 years ago."
"There was wax attack at Hexagon Brewing, but we were feeling more of a German beer hall kind of afternoon, so we headed to Schulz Brau first for some hefes.
Next up, it was over to Crafty Bastard where a Cuban food truck and a repurposed radiator repair shop greeted us. This funky and gorgeously open to the second story roof brewery is doing fascinating stuff with their concoctions, with White Arrow Pine Ale being SVV’s favorite and the Barkley Stout being mine."
"Not too many years ago in the hills of Tennessee, Moonshiners hid their stills from Federal Revenuers as they continued the 200-year-old tradition of making high-proof ’shine’ from corn mash and sugar. It was called hooch, mountain dew, white lightning and the better known name of Moonshine, all made famous in the 1958 movie “Thunder Road” starring Robert Mitchum and Gene Barry, and shot in Cocke County, Tennessee, right next door to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. But today, there has been a revival of the drink with the passing of legislation making production of Moonshine legal in Tennessee, and distillers have been coming out of the woods ever since."
