 littleriverrailroad.org

The Little River Railroad and Lumber Company celebrates the history of one of the largest commercial logging operations in southern Appalachia. The company began in 1901 when W.B. Townsend and a group of investors chartered the lumber company and railroad, eventually building 150 miles of railroad and manufacturing 560 million board feet of lumber. The museum has several outdoor exhibits and buildings that tell the story of this thriving business.
